Welcome to the Finches Lane's (slightly late)
Monthly Newsletter :O)
Â
Thank you so much for being here and for all your support.
I really do appreciate you.
Hello Hello Dear Friends,
This newsletter is a chance for us to have a catch up and for me to let you know what’s been happening over here at the Finches Lane Studio!
Big apologies, I'm a day late to call this the July newsletter!
It's been a month of family things for me with some big events like a graduation for my daughter, a 30th wedding anniversary for us, and a big family get together at the beach. So much to be grateful for as we have navigated the often crazy ups and downs that life brings with it.
Today as I write this it's the pinch - punch, first day of the month day of August and it is hot and sunny here in the south of England.
Look how young we were! It was a happy and incredibly hot day.
We haven't managed to celebrate properly yet as we were both poorly last week but it was so good to go back down memory lane and look at all the photographs again!
I had silk poppies in my wedding bouquet and the real ones are blooming here in the golden fields where I walk the dogs - poppies are such a determined flower.
In other flower news - I'm excited to tell you about the Dahlias that we managed to grow! A first time for me and I'm proper chuffed. The big test will be can I grow them again next year - tee hee.
I also visited a Water Lily garden in Dorset which had some stunning displays of colour. I can't say I love them but it was a treat seeing them altogether like a real life, 3D, oil painting.
We enjoyed seeing bugs and birds that lived with them and took guessing on how many visitors fell in the ponds each season!
Now for the Finches Lane news:
Did I actually manage to achieve anything last month with all the business of life?
Â
Well I have managed to work on a new design which I'm tweaking but I'll give you a sneak peak so you can give me some feedback.
Â
It's a complex Cottage Garden picture with so many of my favourite summer flowers, 11 in total.
Â
I think I'm going to get bags, t-shirts and maybe cushions made - what do you honestly think?
I'm also pleased to report that I actually managed to create and schedule a whole month of daily Pinterest pins!
They definitely aren't perfect yet but some good advice I was given is that you shouldn't wait until you have it all perfectly done but start anyway and learn as you go.
Click on the link below to see them all.
Big thank you to those of you who have ordered T shirts and sweat shirts from the shop last month - so grateful to all of you.
As a family we all wore one when we played a game of crazy golf (as you do)!
Â
AND excitingly...
Â
Its UK free shipping again this weekend too!
What is happening In August 2024
Lots of things to do but I need to stay focused! My brain loves to have so many thoughts and ideas at once and I can get distracted by the creative rather than the admin! Any one else??
Â
I definitely need to keep practicing the Pinterest scheduling and I'd love to link this to education on how we need to be learning to shop more sustainably. Less of the fast fashion purchases that help no one in the long run and research how to find better solutions for us all.
Â
I also would like to do a summer stall for time who are local and there are the beginnings of a plan - should it all come together - it will be the weekend before the Bank Holiday - I'll keep you posted. I have tea towels, cushions and gorgeous cotton bags on order. Can you think of any other stock I should order?
Do reply if you want have a chat about anything in the newsletters, it is so good to hear from you. Â
